Aurora Cacciapuoti hails from Carbonia, a small town in Sardinia. She loves to travel and has lived in many different cities including Milan, Bologna, Edinburgh, Cambridge and L’Aquila. She studied psychology, art psychotherapy, theatre, and graduated from the MA programme in Children’s Book Illustration at the Cambridge School of Art, Anglia Ruskin University (Cambridge, UK).
Her visual universe and whimsical tales abound with sweet, playful, and quirky characters who surprise and delight. She works from her studio, where she uses a combination of hand drawn and digital techniques to create her artwork. When she is not drawing, she can be found cooking, studying Japanese, or riding her red bike. Aurora is currently working on a Japanese picture dictionary which will be published by Chronicle Books in 2019.
