French author and illustrator Romain Bernard was born in Aurillac, in the South of France. After his studies in Applied Arts in Angoulême and in Toulouse, where he lives, he worked from 2004 to 2015 for a creative agency specialized in infographics, an experience that allowed him to deepen his knowledge of digital techniques. For his personal projects he prefers paper and gouache, a medium that allows him to create entire worlds and alternative realities.
Under the pseudonym of Tight he has illustrated book covers for French publishers such as La Table Ronde, L'Arbre Vengeur and Éditions Courtes & Longues, and contributed to the newspaper Libération and the magazine L'Éléphant.
His first picture-book, Chromopolis, was published by Maison Eliza in February 2019. He is currently working on Jour après Jour, that will be released by De La Martiniere Jeunesse in Fall 2019.
