Mosca Verdolina

La mosca verdolina
By Giorgio Parisi
Illustrations by Camilla Pintonato

What child would want to go to sleep if his grandfather is a Nobel Prize-winning physicist who is also an ingenious inventor of fairy tales? Giorgio Parisi's imagination takes shape in five bedtime stories that entertain and make one think, with the simplicity and enchantment of imagination.

“I wanted to say that I saw a fly photographed very closely. It had huge eyes and a greenish body.” “Microscopic photographs of insects are beautiful,” says Grandpa. “But now sleep.” “Oof!” “Oof!” “Oof!” “You can oaf as long as you like, but now you sleep,” Grandpa repeats, turning off the light. “But first tell us a fairy tale,” says the older grandson. “But not just any fairy tale,” says the middle one. “A fairy tale with a fly!” cries the youngest.
