La mer dans son jardin

La mer dans son jardin

by Isabelle Carré, illustrated by Kasya Denisevich

"It's the beginning of spring, the season when everything recommences. And, on one beautiful April morning, the Falla family is preparing to leave their apartment in Pantin. Three rooms with narrow windows in the heart of the city. For one last time, Marie runs in the alleys of the neighborhood to see her friends in the park. The little girl says goodbye affectionately to her friends waiting for her at the big slide…".

While her mother is expecting a second child, Marie and her family leave the suburbs of Paris to settle in Brittany. Faced with so many changes, the little girl will have to confront the immensity of the sea and overcome her own fears. With intense poetry, a hint of the fantastic, and great sensibility, French actress, Isabelle Carré, publishes her first children’s book. Her delicate words are accompanied by Kasya Denisevich’s unique and dreamlike illustrations, which play on a crescendo of color.
