Ilaria Demonti
Ilaria Demonti has been wearing different hats in the field of picture books: as an agent, as an author (Sheepology and Rabbitology) as an illustrator (Wendy and the Wallpaper Cat and La Lezione della neve) and as the creator of Il sogno di Hokusai and The Workshop of Leonardo da Vinci. She also runs workshops for children and grown-ups in libraries, bookshops and festivals. Based in Milan, she spends part of the year in the Alps, hiking, looking for mushrooms and taking countless pictures of leaves, berries, and flowers. She started cataloguing her small discoveries in typographic drawers, creating a series of illustrated wunderkammers. This visual research inspired to observation of nature can also be found in her latest project At first sight, written by Arturo Ichiro Bozzi.
