Andrea D'Aquino

Andrea D’Aquino has loved to draw and paint since childhood. She eventually became an art director in some of the world’s most creatively celebrated ad agencies. Though she got to oversee big budget shoots for international clients, something called her back to her original love of working with her hands and more personal expression. Her art was the basis for a fashion collection from MaxMara/Marella, as well as a magazine cover and book jackets for Mondadori.
Andrea’s editorial illustrations are published widely in publications and online internationally.  She enjoys speaking engagements and workshops for both children and university students. Her work has been recognized by Society of Illustrators/NY and the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, among many others.
She's a devoted swimmer, finding it meditative and energizing. She likes to spend as much time as possible around any animals or wildlife, especially dogs. She has developed a sensitivity to their language, which may be unspoken but often very clear and expressive.

Her life motto:
A story should have a beginning, a middle, and an end, but not necessarily in that order.
 — Jean-Luc Godard
