Ton Mak
Ton Mak is the mom of many creatures: two boys, two cats, and a fantasy world of imaginary characters known as FLABJACKS. FLABJACKS represent a universe of corpulent and odd beings that have been featured in paintings, books, and collectible toys. FLABJACKS have collaborated with brands such as Gucci, Swatch, Apple, Nike, making their distinctive and colourful mark throughout Asia, Europe, and the US.
Ton spent her nomadic childhood growing up between Hong Kong, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. At an early age, her mom introduced her to art as a form of therapy, and she has been drawing and painting for as long as she can remember. In her free time, she likes to daydream and read. Ton is also the author-illustrator of A Sloth's Guide to Mindfulness, A Turtle’s Guide to Introversion, and Self-Care in Underwear, all published by Chronicle Books. She currently resides in San Francisco, California.
