Sangma Francis
Sangma Francis is the pen name for a British-Bangladeshi author living in Berlin, Germany.
She does many brilliant and important things in her spare time, including: eating curry, drinking tea, cooking curry, swimming outdoors, treasure hunting at flea markets, reading, camping, dancing and walking purposelessly around cities. She loves books that are wild, inventive and make her brain zing – from John Burningham’s expressive storytelling and the nonsense verse of Edward Lear to the magical world of Tove Jansson.
Francis studied English Literature at Goldsmiths University of London before going on to write for children. She has written audio stories for Qubs Toys, and published five children’s books. Her work has received a Special Mention for the Bologna Ragazzi Award, been shortlisted for UKLA prize, and won The Best Young People's Book Award from Openbook.
